About Us
Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
How It Started
It all started with a 50mm hook needed for roving yarn, that was in 2016. After many requests for different sizes, Henryettas Hooks became what it is today, through hard work and determination to create beautiful, bespoke wooden hooks, that glide and are a joy to use. With worldwide shipping and many return customers.
Our Process
Each hook is bespoke made to your requirements. With a wide range of woods and acrylics to choose from, you can create your own masterpiece to work up those beautiful crochet projects in no time.
How to Order
We thought it might be good to do a step by step guide as to how to order if you wish too. Our hook master Noel loves when you order, but even though he's a genius in making hooks, he actually can not crochet, so when it comes to the more detailed questions, he doesn't necessarily know the answers. So hopefully this will guide you through those queries.
First of all, hooks are made to order, occasionally "whoops" hooks or "randoms" will come up as "buy it now" hooks over on FB on Sunday evenings, but normally they are to order.
This means that the hook is bespoke made for you. Handle, hook, shape, all made to your requirements.
First find a handle option, normally acrylic, woods can be used. This is probably the hardest choice as there are so many beautiful options.
Then choose the wood for the main part of the hook. Again hard choice but I'm sure easier than the acrylic choice. We take pride in making usable wooden heads. But do offer some sizes in metal inserts.
Next is to work out if you are used to an inline head or tapered. Both can be done, but tapered includes an extra £5 charge. This can be worked out from your present hook. A tapered head will protrude slightly from the shaft line. An inline will be flush to the shaft.
Next is to choose a length, we do 4 lengths, curves is the longest at 175mm, hybrid+ is 155mm, hybrid is 145mm and the 5" hybrid. The easiest way to work this out is to measure your existing hook length.
Now to choose the size you need. This is probably the easiest choice! What is your go to size? The answer to that is the size to order.
Do you think a thumbrest will help? We have two options for thumbrests, inline and shaped. Our inline thumbrests come in at an extra £5 and the shaped are £10.
There is another option, this is a wooden ball end that matches the wood of the hook, this is purely aesthetic but can add to the luxury of hook. It is an extra £15.
Hopefully this helps you order your hook. Any questions please message us, we are always happy to help. Or pop across to the FAQ page and we may have answered your question there.
